Grants For Loft Insulation

Loft Insulation

In an uninsulated home, a quarter of heat can be lost through the roof. Loft insulation is a simple and effective way to lower heating cost. A well insulated loft keeps the heat where it belongs; inside the home. The best part is that most loft insulation can be done by the homeowner. Using less energy reduces carbon dioxide emissions, which is one of the biggest contributors to climate change. So, not only does it save the homeowner money on heating bills, but they are also helping the environment.

The recommended depth for mineral wool insulation is 270mm. Mineral wool is a great insulator and also a fantastic sound absorber. However, different materials require different depths. Loft insulation can save the homeowner around 150 euros a year. Loft insulation is effective for up to 40 years and will save the homeowner money over and over again. More money can be saved if the homeowner can do the work rather than hiring someone else to do the work. Installing loft insulation with loft "blankets" is a pretty straightforward job.

The best part about deciding to install loft insulation is that there are grants for loft insulation that can help the homeowner pay for installation. Homeowners and private tenants are now eligible for grants for loft insulation, which can pay anywhere between 50-100% of funding. Income is not a factor used to determine eligibility criteria. Grants for loft insulation are government backed and do not have to be re-paid.

Using grants for loft insulation allows the homeowner to increase the value of their home for next to nothing. Loft insulation is considered a home improvement and not only increases the value of the home, but also makes it easier to sell. Loft insulation also helps to make the home more comfortable because it will be warmer during the winter months and cooler during the summer months. Loft insulation also help to prevent condensation. There are so many benefits to installing loft insulation. Now is a great time to take advantage of government grants for loft insulation and in turn receive lower energy costs and add value to the home.

Government grants for loft insulation is such a good idea. Everyone can now have their loft insulated and get help with the cost of it. My gran was worried about the cost, but applied for a grant and got 100% of the cost paid for her. She's warm and snug in her house now.

Thinking that you can live without loft insulation is wrong. Everyone who owns their own home should invest in it and thanks to the grants available to insulate your loft you might not even have to pay for it yourself. Do yourself and your house a favour and find out more about this.

Thank you so much for the info on grants for loft insulation. Until I read about it I had never even heard of it before. I applied for a grant and was accepted - and I even got money towards the cost of having it installed. I would tell anyone who wants a warmer house but is worried about the cost of insulation to check out grants.

Travel Mugs - An Insulation Sensation

By Amin Ramjee
It is usually frustrating when preparing for a long trip, when all bags are packed and the beverage of choice is housed in your favorite travel mug, only to find out not much later, that your coffee, tea or hot chocolate has become lukewarm, leaving an awful aftertaste in the throat. Because of this, we tend to make unwanted pit stops at diners or gas stations to get our beverages refilled, and time is wasted in the process. You might end up late for important meetings and appointments.
